’Berg Lash-es out in ninth to beat Bishops

DELAWARE — Shortstop Jason Lash’s three-run homer in the ninth inning propelled Heidelberg to an 8-7 win over Ohio Wesleyan in Delaware Wednesday. The Student Princes (9-1) trailed the Bishops 7-4 but inched closer on a one-out homer by Ricardo Lizcaino, his first of the season. After a hit batter and a single, Lash connected with his first blast this season. Reliever Andy Lowe threw two scoreless innings to finish the HU win. Lowe (1-0) gave up two hits and struck out a batter. Ohio Wesleyan fell to 3-5. Dragons can’t hold leads, get swept SAGINAW, Mich. — Tiffin’s baseball team held leads in each of its games Wednesday at Saginaw Valley State only to get swept by the Cardinals, 10-9 and 7-4. In the first game, the Dragons (3-15) came back from a 7-2 deficit, thanks in large part to a three-run homer by Jason Bailey. Ty Blake had three hits for TU while Jason Kulp slapped two hits and drove in three runs.
