Construction is under way on Adams Hall School of Business.
A construction project that is transforming a former science building into a new business facility on Heidelberg University’s campus is on schedule. Laird Hall of Science, which is nearly a century old and is located near the intersection of Greenfield and Hedges streets, is being renovated to become Adams Hall School of Business. The building last was used about five years ago as a biology and geology center, and it was shut down when Gillmor Hall opened. Rod Morrison, associate vice president for facilities and engineering, said the targeted completion date for major construction is June 1, and officials expect to move in the building July 1. Classes start in August. “We’re moving right along and expect to be finished on time,” he said. John Q. Adams, a trustee and 1958 Heidelberg graduate, gave a $2 million lead gift for the project. Adams, who has owned Baylor Laboratories, Allerderm Inc. and Adams Labs, is retired and lives in Texas.
