Stopping and getting out of the car to ask for directions is becoming a thing of the past. With the advent of the global-positioning system, going to a new destination became a matter of setting a destination and following the voice and screen. Now, navigation systems are so popular that cellular phones, and some vehicles, are equipped to offer that feature. At Coppus Motors, sales manager Tom Zirger said navigation systems are becoming more popular on all models. New technologies have the satellite-based directional systems built into the radio, with screens located on the dashboard. “Higher-end cars such as the Mercedes and high-end minivans have them as standard,” Zirger said. “All of the vehicles can have them as an option. They can order it installed, or we can install it.” Newer systems feature the ability to search for directions to local attractions, restaurants and stores. Zirger added the technology now available within the vehicle includes satellite televisio.
